Whether you are planning a wedding ceremony for 400 people in the Theater or an intimate birthday party for 30 people, the Uptown Theater can accommodate your special event with endless configurations that highlight our eclectic and retro venue. The Uptown Theater recently underwent a $5 million renovation by the City of Grand Prairie that preserved its retro charm but added modern touches to bring the venue into the twenty-first century. The Uptown Theater is the perfect combination of 1950s glam and modern luxury.

The Studio Theater

The Studio Theater is a flexible black box theater that can accommodate 100 guests for a seated dinner or 150 for a public performance. Catering is available for dinner receptions, luncheons, or breakfast meetings. The Studio Theater features a screen for projection, lighting grid, and independent audio system which make it perfect for smaller performances or business meetings. This space also features a mirrored wall with ballet barre for dance recitals or performances. When added to the rental of the Uptown Theater and Lobby, this space serves as a great room for dancing.

The Uptown Theater and Lobby

After receiving a $5 million restoration and rehabilitation, the building’s Art Deco design makes this facility the perfect venue for a unique event. The Uptown Theater provides visitors and patrons a rare opportunity to experience performing and visual arts from throughout the United States. The large stage is appropriate for music, dance, drama, and film. The 402 seats feature 8 loveseats similar to those in the original 1950 construction. The stage features light and scenery grids, a scrim, and an automated movie screen with digital projection and Dolby surround sound. The theatre also has a comfortable green room and four spacious dressing rooms.
